Q1: How is the Mirage Turf different from other synthetic turf?
The difference between Mirage turf fibers and other turf begins with the manufacturing process. Our fibrillated turf fibers interlock with each other, creating a realistic bent fiber look, just like "real bent grass" greens. Most sand-filled turf has straight end fibers that must be sand filled and periodically rolled with a heavy water-filled sod roller. Our turf fibers are manufactured to stand-up naturally. Also, our fibers have a dulled finish, rather than shiny, which creates a natural looking green.

Q2: How Realistic Is Mirage Turf?
"Very realistic" because we add "mower and grain pattern marks," and our three turf models measure from 8 to 11 on a PGA stimp meter:
  • Tour-Putt Ultimate
Simulates a tournament green (bent grass)
  • Tour-Putt
    Simulates a country club green
  • Classic Putt
Simulates a municipal green (Bermuda grass)

Q3: How does the Mirage Turf hold up outdoors?
We use the finest UV-treated polypropylene, water-resistant fibers. Our turf carries a 10-year limited warranty against excessive wear and fading, and resists normal rain, snow, wind, freeze and sun. Mirage Turf is installed in the cold, freezing climates of Canada as well as the hot dry deserts of the American west.

Q4: Is the Mirage Turf maintenance free?
Almost! The Mirage non-sand filled turf is as maintenance free as it gets. Once installed, just keep the leaves and debris off the surface. ALL YOU NEED IS A LEAF BLOWER!

Q5: Can a Mirage Green be sculptured with breaks and undulations?
Yes! A Mirage Putting Green can be made to look just like real grass tour greens.

Q6: What size or shape can the Mirage Green be?
Almost any size or shape you want!.

Q7: Can I chip onto a Mirage Green?
Yes! Our special shock-absorbing underbase, coupled with the spring action inter-locking fibers, makes our surface "check-up" like a natural green.

Q8: On large custom greens, will the seams split apart over time?
No! Our seams will not split apart. The Mirage process, which we named the "FirmTrack StyroCrete/Epoxy System," is unique. Our seams and our turf are glued down to our proprietary space-aged underbase system. We do not loose-lay our turf on rock or soil.

Q9: Is Mirage Turf the same style synthetic turf used on putt-putt courses?
No, absolutely not! Miniature golf turf is usually installed as a glue down on a cement, and their fibers are short and not very dense. They putt very fast, and the turf does not last very long.
